Our Approach

Restore Your Balance with Herbal Care

Stage 1

Symptomatic Care

During this stage, we aim to alleviate your symptoms. Depending on the health concern and severity, this stage can vary from 3 to 6 weeks. Once your symptoms are relieved, you will move on to Step 2, Corrective Care.

If this is difficult to understand, think of replenishing an overgrown garden. The first step in cultivating the space is to cut back excess growth and weeds. Your symptoms are very much like the weeds.

Stage 2

Corrective Care

In order to restore your health, we must also determine the underlying cause of your illness, rather than simply addressing the symptoms. This involves a second Evergreen formula uniquely positioned and carefully prescribed to address the root of your concerns. Often, patients enjoy the second treatment phase for another 6 to 12 weeks.

Continuing the garden analogy, we now must take complete care to remove the weeds from the soil and prepare the soil for new seeds to plant. Using appropriate tools, the roots are extracted, leaving healthy plants and rich earth behind. Stage 2 heals what is creating and causing your pain and discomfort, setting the stage for healthy living.

Stage 3

Maintenance Care

The final phase of your care includes Maintenance Therapy. We will prescribe tonics and other Evergreen formulas to keep your immune system strong and healthy, so it will protect the body as it should. The final phase of treatment is ongoing. After all, relapse is simply unacceptable when such high-quality herbal supplements are so readily available.

In our analogy, this means the soil of our reclaimed garden is fertilized and treated to prevent the return of weeds while building a healthy foundation to support the growth of beautiful plants and flowers. What this means for you is that your overall health is protected by Chinese herbs, just as the garden is protected and allowed to thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

We here to help you.

Acupuncture uses a very thin, firm, hairlike needle placed at particular spots on the body. This stimulates and regulates the central and peripheral nervous systems. It is particularly effective for relieving pain as it triggers the release of endorphins and enkephalins, which are natural pain relieving substances produced by the body.

Because many people connect needles with pain, this is the most often asked question regarding acupuncture. Acupuncture needles are as thick as hair and thus the insertion is almost painless. Most people describe the sensation as tingling or pressure. All needles are disposable and sterilized.

I will be doing a pulse diagnosis along with palm and auricular evaluations for you. Because no two people are alike, I will prescribe a specific herbal formula tailored specifically for your constitution.

Acupuncture treatments are done on a weekly basis, usually three times a week for the first two weeks, twice a week for a month or so, and once a week after that.

Herbal treatments start with a one-week prescription after which we will follow up and adjust the formulas accordingly on a two or three-week basis. You will only need to come in once every two months or so to re-evaluate your pulse and condition in person.

Once the condition has been stabilized or you are symptom-free, both acupuncture and herbal treatments are done less frequently and finally stop. Should the condition you have to require maintenance care, only herbs will be prescribed to keep you from experiencing a relapse of symptoms.

This depends on the severity and nature of the condition. Acute problems can take one week to one month while chronic problems tend to take a longer time to heal. Your treatment course will be determined after the first visit and reassessed after each session. For the majority of chronic illnesses, 10 to 20 sessions are usually sufficient. Some acute diseases may only only a single treatment, whereas some degenerative conditions may necessitate as many as 40.

Before your appointment, we recommend eating something light so your body has some energy to work with as some patients feel lightheaded or weak especially during the first acupuncture treatment. Please wear loose clothing as we will need to access your arm, legs, and abdomen areas.

Currently, we accept only Venmo, Zelle or checks. We do not accept health insurance at this time.

About Your Herbal Treatment

The herbal extract granules you will receive are manufactured under pharmaceutical-grade Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. They are tested for mold, heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic), aflatoxin, microbes, pesticide, and more.
On average, our herbs are tested 15 times before they reach you.

Specific dosing will be provided on the bottle itself in terms of how many spoons, before or after meals. Only mix warm or room temperature water with the herbs. Do not mix coffee, tea, soda, juice, etc. Anything other than warm water may alter the effect of the herbs and give unwanted side effects. To avoid the taste of the herbs, one can use a straw to drink the herbs.

All extracts we use are derived from nature. They do not contain harsh chemicals, alcohol or preservatives, and are very gentle to your system. Each batch is checked for safety against bacteria, fungus and heavy metals. Nonetheless, sensitive patients may experience reactions such as minor stomach discomfort. If such reactions occur, reduce the dosage, take with food, or modify the herbal formula and contact me for further instructions.

Most herbal extracts may be taken by individuals who are also using prescription drugs, without problems. However, it is recommended that herbal extracts be taken on an empty stomach at least two hours apart from the prescription drugs. I will make specific herbal modifications to avoid potential herb-drug interaction when you provide a list of medications you are on.

There are three stages of herbal care to help you back to balance. Some people can recover faster while others take a bit longer. In general, if you have had a condition for one year, it usually takes one month to see some results.
